The Prahjeckt: In Review

I’m Kara. I’m quite the plain Jane, so no fancy fonts from me. I’m fond of orange and I’m still waiting for my Hogwarts letter.

My name is Steffi and I speak largely in italics. I have a fondness for purple and picking my nose. I’m in a perpetual state of wishing I was in Disneyland.

This is our Prahjeckt: In Review.

So.. How’s it going?

Really good! I run 2 blogs and crochet like a mad person in my free time. I’m momma to 2 puppies and a kitty, I’m a maid of honor this year, and I’m planning 7+ trips out of state. I’m good, but may be slightly crazy.

Good! But I didn’t get enough sleep last night and I have a rash under my arms. It’s never too much information on the internet right?

No, how’s the blog going?

Oh it’s great! I am so proud of us for keeping it up a whole year! It would be so easy to quit, but it’s so fun I don’t think either of us wants to. Plus the punishments really help 😉

It’s great! I love this damn thing. I’ve been so mushy this past week. I can’t believe we’ve been writing in this for a year! That’s 52 posts (except the ones that we missed maha)! I am so incredibly proud of Kara, who hates writing, to have continued this journey with me. This is a HUGE feat for her. And I, guh, I’M JUST SO MUSHY. I have the best best friend in the whole world and I really feel like this Prahjeckt has made my life more fun.

Who was punished the most?

I think it was Kara at the beginning but in the last few months, I have 100% turned that around. But I’m too lazy to count and make sure. Kara, can you count the things?

Well I can tell you we made it 4 months without missing a post! I was the first one to receive a punishment. Though I posted very late on several occasions, I only have 2 1/2 punishments. You have 3 1/2 😛

What was your favorite post you did?

My favorite post I’ve done is the Complete, Official and Absolute List of Underappreciated Disney Songs (which is also my most educational post). But the ones I’m most proud of are my posts about my eating disorders: Part 1 and Part 2

My Harry Potter book collection

What was your favorite post the other person did?

I love Steffi’s Complete, Official and Absolute Guide to the Best Disney Kitties. I love when she talks about kitties. And the gifs, the gifs are amazing.

Kara’s Phoenix Comicon 2015 Recap was easily my favorite post she’s done this year. She put so much effort into her part of the booth at PCC and it really shows. Her creations are amazing and it was so awesome to see how many people love her work. I admire her so much! GUSHGUSHGUSH.

Any new interests? I recently got into planner decorating and I, very much on purpose – it was not even slightly accidentally, got Kara into it too (I knew that video I posted last week would hook her). I also got into reading again. This is, obviously, an old interest, but I’m reading a lot more than I was before and it sparked my interest again. Watching Let’s Plays on YouTube and getting into the gamer community (just dipping my toe in, don’t send gamergate after me). I never thought I would have an interest in that kinda stuff, but it’s been such a fun thing for Andrew and I to do together. Plus, I like being “in the know” about gamer things. Makes me feel cool, like a hip mom.

I’ve been playing more flash games recently; I took a bit of a break from Kongregate. And I’m still on hold with my WoW account, though I’ve been dying to play. Instead, we’re playing Heroes of the Storm! It’s like LoL but by Blizzard so instantly cooler. You’ll probably see more planner insanity because, yes Steffi did hook me with that video. Last year at this time, we were super into playing blind tag every week, but now we go to the trampoline gym! Steffi can do backflips over and over again and I’m just learning how to do front flips. Activities!

How will you celebrate the blogs one year anniversary? We’re going to Disneyland, duh! I’ll be there for Disneyland’s 60th (Friday-Sunday) and Kara will be joining me on the weekend! We’re going to do so much of nothing. All the nothing will be had by us.

We’re going to Disneyland! I can’t wait to eat ice cream on Main Street all day and see the new parade and fireworks for the 60th. Doing nothing in the parks is so MAGICAL.

Will you keep posting?

Since this doesn’t seem to be a goodbye post, yes I think we will.

Imma have to say duh.

Goals for the new blog-year?

More gifs. And I really want to see more harsh punishments. I think we’ve been too lenient this year (first person to skip a post has to put peanut butter on their face?). Also, since Kara and I are getting into planner decorating, I hope there will be some Plan with Me series, or the blog equivalent. As a person: I’d like to say that I’m more well rested by next year this time. Also, it would be nice to start working out again. And save some money. And be happy. If those things happen, I will be a happy girl.

Yes, gifs. I miss gifs. I lost all of my saved ones on my old computer D: I want to be more harsh with punishments too. And we need to start a youtube channel. Maybe punishments have to be vlogged? I definitely want to be more organized this year, like actually plan out posts. Good thing we bought new extremely satisfying planners!

How many days has it been since you’ve been to Disneyland?

73 days!!

I hate that you’re winning, WHY ARE YOU WINNING. 88.

Book Reviews and Punishments!

Hello Keddah,

I’ve finally left my Patrick Rothfuss book slump and I’ve started reading again! I think summer makes me read.

Alison has Mamrie’s book

These are the books I’ve read so far!

Memoirs of Lady Trent (series)//A Natural History of Dragons and The Tropic of Serpents

These books are WONDERFUL. They’re fantasy books but their written as a memoir and I think that’s so unique. Lady Trent is easily becoming one of my favorite female protagonists in literature. They’re very enticing reads and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these to anyone. Andrew’s reading them now. The third book is out, but only in hardback, so I’m waiting till the paperback comes out. (PS I have no idea how many books will be in this series so if you ain’t down to wait, hesitate.)

I give them five out of five ducks.

Museum of Extraordinary Things

This book was recommended to me by one of the lovely ladies at Changing Hands and I’m very glad she did! I love reading about “oddities” and this book is full of them. And I’ve noticed that I have a thing for circuses.. Anyways, it was a creepy, eerie, social justice-y, happy ending book and I loved it. If you liked the Miss Peregrine’s series, I would suggest you give this a read.

Five out of five ducks

You Deserve a Drink: Boozy Misadventures and Tales of Debauchery

Mamrie. Stop it, you beautiful beast. I LOVED this book. I’ve said it before, it’s no Let’s Pretend This Never Happened, but it’s still a freaking fantastic book. It has code words, each chapter starts with a recipe for an alcoholic beverage, and there’s Topless Tuesday! Note: While reading this book, Kara and I discussed the fact that if we were in college as we are now, I would never wear pants and Kara just wouldn’t wear clothes period. We also decided, because of this book, that we are each others Heterosexual Life Partners. This book deserves to be read by all.

Six out of five ducks.

The Paper Magician

This book was weird. It was very captivating, but I know that it’s not a well put together book. I’m going to read the second and third in the series, but this is one of those books that you’re embarrassed to like. The concept is so cool, but the story line is really lame. There was just so much more that could have been done with this series.

Four out of five ducks for keeping me reading

No. I hated reading this book. The author is so fucking good at describing the feeling of being watched. For about 2/3 of the book, I was petrified. NOTHING scares me more than the feeling of being watched. But I had to finish it otherwise I would have been stuck. I won’t be reading any more of the series.

Two out of five ducks.

I’m currently reading The Night Circus, which is really good so far (but I’m only about 100 pages in). I’ll let you know how that goes!

As for my punishment: This is what I watched this week!

~Lots of Northernlion. So much Nothernlion. Andrew and I watch his Lets Plays of The Binding of Issac and the Northernlion Live Super Show, which features my internet boyfriend, Nick (Rockleesmile).

~I got into planner decorating this week? (WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME) I’ll just leave this playlist here but my favorite video is the June Plan with Me.

~I played so much Tsum. All the Tsum Tsum. I need a time stop Tsum, a Bambi tsum, and a rabbit Tsum to complete my bingo cards. I’m getting VERY annoyed haha.

~ I watched Monsters U and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. Cloudy w/ a Chance 2 is probably one of my favorite animated films and that kills my Disney heart a little bit. I am embarrassed to tell you how many times I’ve watched this film. And I laugh like it’s the first time EVERY. DAMN. TIME. The bus driver gets me.

Except wait, one more thing. Next week we will have posted to Plaintartsss for a YEAR. WHATTHEDAMNHELL. I’m so mushy every time I think about it.

Shiny New Computer!

Last week my hardrive took a poop and after much frantic copying of pictures and files, Grayson ordered parts to build me a new computer! We also decided to buy a 1T external hardrive because not backing up wedding photos and New Zealand photos was just a terrible lack of effort.

I love my old bumblebee case, but we bought a shiny new white one. It reminds me of Evaaaaa.

The empty case ready for assembly!

Motherboard, processor and power supply in!

Pretty parts!

Power test! I chose a green fan so it would match my keyboard, but this would look cooler if it were blue!

Final setup for now! I had to toss my second monitor as it didn’t have an HDMI connection D: I’m also waiting on a new L-shaped desk, for which I’ll have a complete desk area makeover post.

I need to tell you some of my favorite things. Please, after I announce  every favorite, do Grace’s CANYOUSEEAT?!?!

1) Disney Movie Club

Disney Movie Collection

Two shelves baby yea.

This girl has an impressive collection of Disney Movies. I owe that to Disney Movie Club. When you sign up, you get 5 movies in your preferred format (I pick Blu-ray now that it’s available) for $1 a piece! When you sign up for DMC, you agree to purchase 4 movies at regular club prices in 24 months. I do that ANYWAY so it’s no thang. And “regular club prices” often means discounted preorders. Uh-hum-yes. I’ve participated in it 3 times now and I lurve it. Once your commitment is complete, you can cancel and do the program again! If you want to sign up you can go to – and make sure you check out Retail Me Not for the promo code to get 5 movies at $1 instead of 4.

2) Shower caps

Living Proof Shower Cap

Why did I live my life letting my hair get all stupid and kinky from the steam of a shower or bath? Team filthy hair!

3) This Video:

Mamrie is one of my favorite humans and this video, I’m unashamed to tell you, made me laugh so hard I peed myself. I was in my bed, the cheese part came up, and I had to waddle myself to the bathroom trying not to drip. Just watch it.

4) This Book:

Let’s Pretend This Never Happened

I read Mamrie’s book, You Deserve a Drink, and it was really great, really really great, but the whole time I was wishing it was as good as the best humor/memoir I’ve ever read, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. I laughed so hard I cried when reading this book. I probably peed myself (side note: I should probably get better control over my bladder). Everyone should read this book. Everyone. It will make you feel very normal.

To the furthest star and back!
PS You owe me a half punishment. In the next month, you have to go to a yoga class (or do an hour long yoga sesh in your room) twice in one week! Hashbrown friendshelpingfriends

Hi Steffi! If you want to play a new board game and you love adorable fat panda’s with belly buttons, you have to play this game!

You can watch TableTop play this game right here:

You build the land, grow bamboo, and make the panda eat the bamboo to complete missions for points. Whoever has the most points at the end wins! There’s handy player cards, bamboo shoots, and tiny mission cards. The panda token is the cutest thing you will ever see.

There is a collector’s edition version of this game that is super-sized, but there were only 400 released in the US. It’s running over $200 on amazon.

I settled for the collectible giant panda figurine. Him with his umbrella was just too adorable.

Also, punishments! You still have your half punishment and now you have a real one: go one week without watching TV shows. That includes Netflix and Hulu and DVDs!

Phoenix Comicon 2015 Recap

Hi Steffi! I sold my crochet stuff for the first time at Phoenix Comicon this year and it was a total success! I love comicons. It is the place of my people and I feel so at home. I saw amazing cosplays and met awesome people. I just want to be at con all the time forever.

Here’s me on Friday in my Steampunk Nurse Joy cosplay, you know, selling pokemon and stuff. I sell things with Airship Sleipnir; we’re a really cool steampunk group and you should check us out! They make fully functional steampunk Nerf guns. 20150529_173834 IMG_20150529_135121

These were our booth buddies, Icy Cosplay and Leah Rose! They are both so awesome you should check them out if you’re interested in cosplay and pop culture clothes! I might even be making Leah crochet dragon eggs for one of her Dany cosplays! Icy’s Etsy store: Hero & Villain DesignIMG_20150531_173251

Here’s some of my favorite cosplays from this year. IMG_20150529_233101The Goblin King, Link’s from Four Swords, Malon & adorable deku sapling, Bob’s Burgers, Pokemon Ghostbuster.

IMG_20150530_203538Mary Poppins, Sylveon, Princess Mononoke, Captain Toad!, Baby Link (with my crochet Navi!), Ash & Eeveelutions.

There was also this really cool Zero puppet this girl had made. Just for you! 20150529_163559

The guys at the Airship Sleipnir booth were looking fine. 20150530_100837

I didn’t cosplay the whole time, but I did wear my shiny gold Loki leggings on Thursday and my steampunk outfit on Saturday and casual Link cosplay on Sunday. It’s nice to wear comfy clothes and not have your toes go numb from heels. Tucson Comicon flashbacks!

I was only able to go to a couple panels. One of them was a free build with Legos and I went with Jamie & Ian. It was a nice break from the chaos of the exhibition hall, but my Lego creations paled in comparison to Jamie & Ian’s masterpieces. I made the third-wheel table and the poor representation of Seattle. IMG_6686

The best thing I had ever seen was the ASU Quidditch panel. I had glanced at a couple games before, but I had never watched a match. It is SO INTENSE. And I really want to play. They do kids birthday parties where they teach kids how to play “Kidditch” but I want them at my next birthday party. Hashtag snitchesbecrazy.20150531_120931

I really miss comicon, but I have my crochet and I’ll still be making lots of stuff because I just can’t stop.

P.S. You have a mini punishment. Take a family photo for instagram. You, Andrew, Jax, and Harvey!

15 of My Favorite Feelings

Kara, I’m taking all of my cues from Youtube lately.

After watching Hank and Este’s videos about their 15 favorite feelings, I couldn’t stop thinking about mine! So here’s my list:

1) Planning a vacation and the week leading up to it. I get so much joy out of planning a vacation: booking the hotel, planning when we’ll leave, booking any attractions, thinking about what I need to pack – I love it so much! And the week before my vacation, I’m in pure bliss. I cannot stop thinking about Andrew and mine’s mini-honeymoon/vacation to Orlando after the wedding and that’s a half a year away.

2) Cats. All cats all the time. Especially when they decide that they need to have a bit of a snuggle. I’m so mushy right now just thinking about it.

3) My bed. Whether it’s the moment when I slide into the covers at night or the eternal morning battle that takes place anytime I’m forced to leave, there is just no better place than my bed.

4) Except maybe my tub. My bathtub is my happy place. Me, a Lush bubble bar, a candle, facemask and my tub make for a blissful Steffi.

5) Waving goodnight to Walt’s apartment (waving to Walt more specifically, but semantics people). I never leave Disneyland without thanking Walt for letting me exist in his dream.

6) Disneyland. Waving goodnight to Walt gets its own category, because that’s so special to me, but Disneyland gets a category too. Spectacular things have happened to me there and I love everyone I’ve ever spent a day in the park with.

7) This is something that happened in the past, but I have to count it because going to Disneyland with you now is still just as wonderful. Taking Kara to Disneyland and introducing her to my favorite place in the world, and watching her fall in love with it as much as I do literally brings tears to my eyes. Going back to the parks with her now is just like reliving all of the crazy and wonderful trips we’ve taken together. All of my friends before Kara already had a deeply rooted love of Disneyland, like me, so showing her the parks and seeing her love it too will always have a massive place in my heart.

8) Getting to a movie early, prepared, getting a good seat, and watching the previews. If I’m not at the theater at least 20 minutes before the movie starts, popcorn and reusable water cup in hand, side snacks in my purse, I might as well not go; the night is ruined.

9) Food. Trying a new food and it’s amazing or going to a restaurant that you love and ordering your favorite dish and it’s perfect, just like you remember. Best feeling ever. Or trying a new dish at home and it’s delicious. Basically delicious food.

10) Baking and having people enjoy your baked goods.

11) Strolling through a bookstore with a hot beverage on a cold day, taking the book home, finding a cozy spot on the couch, and diving in. Or looking at my bookshelves. Or just books.

12) Good coffee. Really good coffee. Macy’s coffee.

13) Giving other people compliments. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do (because humans are so beautiful) and I love seeing people light up when I give them a compliment.

14) Makeup. Buying new makeup, trying new makeup, watching other people do makeup, feeling like a bad ass bitch because my makeup is 10 kinds of on point, experimenting with new makeup, doing other people’s makeup. Just makeup.

15) Last but never least, my partner in crime, without whom I wouldn’t be the woman I am today. I’m endlessly lucky, endlessly grateful, and endlessly in love with him. And to make it even more mushy, let me call him by his nickname: Monsieur Poopypants McStinkbutt. You are the poop to my stink and you have my heart.

Kara, I hope I see your 15 favorite feelings next week and I will see you IN PERSON LATER TONIGHT YAY!!!

Stitch Fix #4

Hi Steffi, this will be my last fix for a few months because I need to catch up on sorting through my clothes. I’ve been terrible at getting rid of something when I get new stuff. This fix wasn’t as exciting, but I still kept a couple things.

May Chevron Print Knit Back Top – I love the color and print and it’s really lightweight. I’m keeping it!

Parvin Reversible Tote – It would be great for travel, but I can find something less expensive if I really needed to buy one.

Renesme Geo Print Faux Wrap Dress – This is so comfy! I’m keeping it!

Manna Tie Front Knit Top – The tie in the front is cute, but I don’t need any more dark blue tops.

Nixie Wide Leg Pant – These are a little crazy, but super comfy. If they weren’t too big and wide at the bottom they would make great yoga or sleep pants.

Sorry for the short post, I should have a post-con recap next week! 🙂
