DIY Harry Potter Wreath

Hi Steffi, I accomplished some goals this weekend! I pretty much ignored what I normally do/need to do on the weekend and I spent my time doing only things that I could cross off my list. Here’s what I did!

#87. Make a wreath

Thanks for the ideas pinterest! Here’s how I made it:

20150926_131659Materials! I got this stuff for less than $20 and I already had the glasses, time turner, etc.

20150926_132859
I cut strips of tulle about 2 feet long.

collage
I tied the strips of tulle all the way around, alternating colors.

I put some craft glue on the backside to keep the tulle from undoing and sliding around the foam ring. It dries clear!

I put all the details on with craft glue and some sewing pins. TADA!

I also completed:

#63. Make a homemade pizza

To the furthest star and back,

Katie’s Bridal Shower!

20150919_165634

Hi Steffi, here’s some fun pictures of the party we threw for Katie’s shower last weekend! It was elephant themed with lots of Tiffany blue and gray. It was pretty darn cute and lots of fun and most importantly, Katie loved it!

20150919_135949
Fancy mimosa bar! I crocheted the little elephants banner and found the chalkboard signs in the $1 section at Target. We had tasty cucumber water and pink lemonade and lots of different juices for the mimosas!

IMG_1271
Cute little treats and snacks! Mini pancake stacks with shots of syrup, ants on a log, and two different kinds of puppy chow. We had little elephants on top of the pancake toothpicks and sprinkled all the tables with elephant confetti! You can find the toothpicks on Etsy here and the confetti here.

IMG954736We took lots of ideas from pinterest and one of them was the ombre balloons and tulle tied around the strings. It was a lot of work but totally worth it; everyone was so impressed by it!

IMG954735
Everyone got a plastic champagne flute for their mimosas and we had them all sign a bottle for Katie in silver and gold sharpie.

We played games like pin the mustache on Andrew and had a Project Runway competition of toilet paper wedding dresses. These were hilarious! Thanks pinterest!

Congrats Katie!! Can’t wait till next month!!

An Equivalent…Or Something

SO STEFFI. I took the Nerdfighter 2015 census the a couple weeks ago. Do you even fill that out? Because I do. I was so excited waiting for Hank’s COMPLETE ANALYSIS video because I watched the entire thing last year and I wasn’t bored at all. You’d probably get bored. So that got me thinking; I’m the Hank in our relationship. And you’re John.

REASONS:
You have puff levels for days.
I get excited about the census analysis video. DATA!
You love books.
I’m science-y, you’re not.
You aren’t opposed to reading poetry.

(I’m reading this prematurely and so true. I’ve been listening to Hank and John (the podcast) and, if I’m honest with myself, I’m the gross one (John) and you’re the wonderful one (Hank).) -Steffi

See?! Amirite?

My_Pretty_Seahorse_06

Aaaaand the only other reason I can think of now is the opposite:
I like a sport called football.

So I guess what I’m saying is we’re different individuals who are different than another set of different individuals. This post doesn’t make sense. But imma post it anyways. Happy Tuesday!

And like we say in our hometown, don’t forget to be awesome.
