Reasons

Hello Steffibuns!

So I know you probably hate Disney right now – for very legitimate reasons. I honestly thought it was a joke – or at least not real – when you told me that they are getting rid of Tower. But that is not to say I don’t want to go this year. Because I think we should. And here are the reasons why:

  1. We need another lazy Disney day. I know we can’t ride the train or watch Aladdin the whole time, but we can sit on Main Street with ice cream.
  2. We could take over Astro Blasters again.
  3. We could ride Casey Jr over and over again and pretend that we’re on the real train.
  4. PICKLES.
  5. We could ride Tower one more time; yell Hogwarts and scream too early one more time.
  6. The goat.
  7. We COULD watch the wonderful world of caaaah-lahhhhh!
  8. I’d say Pokemon hunting, but you don’t play. But I’ll say it anyway. Pokemon hunting.
  9. The smell of Pirates.
  10. Going one year without going to Disneyland with you is something that’s never happened since 2009. I don’t know about you, but I’m not a quitter.

That being said, we will be in Tokyo Disney this year so we couldn’t beat ourselves up too much about not going.

Reading update: SHAME. I need to read twice as hard this week!

Shopping Spree : A Saga

Hello Bean,

First – let’s just talk about how miserable I am at posting. Very. But my lovely and wonderful and perfect Bean has allowed me to post twice this week so I don’t get punished. Yay!

Second – I’ve been very bad lately. I’ve bought a lot of stuff. So I’m going to show it to you in a way to try and justify it in my head.

Third – I went to LA/Orange this past weekend to see the Little Mermaid at the Hollywood Bowl. Unfortunately, I got sick and couldn’t go. But – I did get to go and do a lot of other fun things and otherwise had a very restful, lovely weekend.

SO since I’m trying to butter you up, Keddahbean, here is what I got from Downtown Disney!

A Friendly Ghost, Baloo and Bagheera! (Bagheera is for you <3)

Lollipop for Brenda’s son, Hatbox Ghost Pin and an Up Pin

I hope you enjoyed this little Disney Haul!

❤ See you Saturday!

PS THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! I just figured out that we will be in JAPAN ON OUR FRIENDVERSARY. AND WHAT IS LIFE. Also, instead of a honeymoon this trip is going to be a pollensunrise. Alison created this and I love it the most. THE END.

Wedding Details: Club 33

Hi Kara!

The night I got married, Andrew and I had dinner at Club 33. And with it, Andrew got a new anecdote. He will proudly tell all who listen that he “can now confidently tell you the best meal he ever had in his life – the filet mignon at Club 33.”

How we got in: First question we got was how we got in. I met an amazing man through my work named Mike. He, with his family, own a bus company in California and he is very ONEOFUS. He has a new, beautiful baby girl and within two weeks that baby was in Disneyland, getting her picture taken in front of the castle. They’re all AP holders and I have just adored any time I get to spend with him and his family for work functions and the like. He mentioned once that a business associate of his had a membership to Club 33 – and even though I figured it was a long shot – I asked him to put in a good word for me – and a once in a lifetime dream was had! I’m so grateful to him for putting in the call for us. I still don’t think he has any idea how much it meant to me and Andrew (even though I told him that I cried when we got the reservation).

Why was it special to me?: Ever since I can remember, I dreamed of having my picture taken with my future husband on the steps of the Court of Angels. I’ve loved that spot since I was a kid. I’ve taken almost everyone I’ve ever gone to Disneyland with to that spot to get pictures, relax, talk about Walt. It’s a stunning location – but it was closed off to become the new entrance of Club 33 – meaning that I would never get a picture of Andrew and I there as a married couple. As most of my friends know, I was devastated when it closed, so this was a dream come true for me. Secondary perk though, the food is amazing.

Food: So we had a choice of a 5 or 6 course meal. Andrew and I hadn’t eaten after breakfast so we went with the 6 courses, but ended up only completing 4. Here’s what we had:

  • Course 1
    • S: Lobster Rockefeller
    • A: Fried Chanterelle Mushrooms
  • Course 2
    • S: Trio of Beets Salad
    • A: Acorn Squash Soup with Summer Sausages
  • Course 3
    • S: Seared Scallop
    • A: Lobster Risotto
  • Course 4
    • S: Salmon
    • A: Filet Mignon
  • Course 5
    • S: Brownie
    • A: Apple Pie

In bold, you will find who won each round. Now, that’s not to say that the competing dish wasn’t incredible. It was. They all were. But there has to be a winner sometime. And the Filet Mignon DOMINATED my salmon. It would have been a tough call if it had been paired against my scallop, but even I, a pescetarian of too many years, can say I wanted a piece of that meat.

I didn’t get many pictures there, because we both were hella uncomf*, but we did get two trinkets to remember our amazing meal by.

To the furthest star and back,

*On being hella uncomf: We were the best dressed there, to the point that we were OVERLY dressed in comparison. But not only were we the only ones taking the dress code seriously, but most of the people there were acting like IT WAS GODDAMN MICKY D’S. LIKE IT WAS ANY OTHER TUESDAY NIGHT. My god, what it must be like to have that kind of money.

My Life Looks Like This

Happy Tuesday Steffi! I know you are not feeling well and this is a most inopportune time to have tiny chickens in your brain, but it could be worse! At least you have 9 whole days to get better.

I don’t have anything prepared for today, but I thought you’d like some pictures from the past couple of weeks of my life.

We went to Tucson Comicon and I looked like this:

Disneyland Trip!

Hi Steffi,

This is an account of my second trip of the year. It was Kyle’s birthday trip even though it was over a month late. We met up with Katie and Andrew and began our 15 hour adventure!

We started in DCA and made our round there in an hour and half. We spun around on Mater’s ride first; it has a fun, look-at-the-goat kind of feeling to it. We checked out Arendelle and I showed him the crappy sno-cone snow. We battled on Toy Story Mania where Kyle boasted about his accuracy. Goofy’s Sky School is always fun terrifying with your eyes closed. We tried racing cars for a second time, but it shut down and we got to walk off! Lastly was Grizzly River Rapids, always good for a rush of water between your legs from the sneaky holes in the bottom of the raft. Katie & Andrew didn’t brave this part so they left us to do some wedding stuff and we’d see them later.

Our day was going great so far. We went over to Disneyland and checked out the improved Alice; three cheers for creepy Alice being gone! We hovered around the castle for a bit, looking at all the decorations for the 60th. DEAR GOD HELP ME, I HEARD A CHILD SAY, “THAT’S ELSA’S CASTLE!” “YES, THAT’S RIGHT.” REPLIED HER FATHER. Oh how I could have been so evil and a real asshat just then! I wish you had been there to do it for me.

We rarely wait in the Indy line, but we did and it broke down. We waited for 15 minutes and it started working again, we sat down in the 3rd row seats, aaaand it broke again. The people next to us were having similar luck with their day, so I did a bit of magic and gave them our Cars passes we’d received when we walked off the ride. They were pretty happy 🙂 Two hours after getting in line,we finally got Indy over with and found Katie & Andrew (they had been trying to find us while we were stuck). I stepped in some gum, we waited in a really long Space line, Katie & Andrew were being cute, Kyle braved a new pose on Splash Mountain and I finally ate a corndog in my corndog Hank shirt.

It was a really great day. Happy birthday Kyle! And thanks, Walt!

Disneyland!

Hi Keddah,

I just got back from my Disneyland trip. It was uncomfortably busy for a Thursday but we got our pictures taken for our engagement shoot at park opening so I think some wonderful shots will be taken.

I am exhausted, so this post probably won’t make sense but DISNEYLAND.

Also, here is an undoctored picture of the new and improved castle!

The diamonds are tacky and plastic looking and they removed our owl so all and all I’m unimpressed.

BUT I CAN’T WAIT TO GO FOR THE 60th!

To the furthest star and back,
