Hi Steffibun! Last Tuesday was a beautiful day when I received this in the mail! Thanks to Jamie, I had a credit and I needed new tops for work so I went ahead and ordered one. I bought everything in my last box when I asked for all sleeveless tops. This time I ordered all sleeved shirts. This is what they sent me!

From top left to bottom right:

Vidal Henley Blouse – this was too big so I didn’t keep it.

Londonderry Henley Blouse – this preppy style was adorable but it was just a bit too see through.

Ervin Cutout Detail Blouse – I kept this! The material is super light and I love the color.

Piazon Scallop Detail Blouse – I kept this one too. The sleeves are see through!

Lisbon Stud Detail Blouse – the shoulders are puffy so I wasn’t sure about it at first but the color and studs got me. I kept it!

Samsung Emojis Are Better

Hi Steffibun, it’s Tuesday again!

I want to tell you why my emojis are better than yours. They are superior in every way and it makes me sad that when I send you an emoji, you aren’t getting the full effect of my emotion.

Do you see the wonder in my face when I send you heart eyes?

There’s an app that will show you the translation between the two. It’s called Emojily. Apparently the girl with bunny ears I always use is actually dancing twins?

Here’s some of the new ones we just got. Look at my cute happy nerds!

The faces have so much more expression. Please refer to these when I send them to you 😛

The Cuckoo’s Calling -A Review

16160797

Hi Steffibun!

I FINALLY finished The Cuckoo’s Calling last weekend…only 2 months to read it, not bad. It was over 400 pages, making it the longest book I’ve read since Harry Potter. I enjoyed reading it a lot; it’s a mystery crime novel and it reminded me of how much I enjoyed Nancy Drew. I tried not to think of who actually wrote it as I read, but I do know that helped me through some parts…Jo must have a great ending so I have to keep going. Don’t worry, no spoilers here. I was both surprised and mildly disappointed in the ending. Surprised because I honestly didn’t see it coming, but I am very bad at predicting the outcome of such stories even though I watch lots of CASTLE. Disappointed because I was surprised for all of half a second until the effect wore off.

I was a fan of the foreshadowing that I didn’t know was there until it was all revealed at the end. It had a OHHHHHHH-esque feeling to it that I’ve been missing since Harry Potter, though it was nothing of that caliber.

So I am definitely glad I read it, but I’m excited to read something more fantastical next. Which is why I am currently reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland! It’s very short and I plan on reading the illustrated HP afterwards so I can catch up on the challenge.

A Birthday Fix

Hiya Steffibun! THANK YOU SO MUCH for my awesome birthday card. I’m glad you made me wait until I woke up on my birthday to read it. I almost choked on my cereal.

My 5th stitch fix is here! I haven’t ordered one in a while, but I thought I’d get myself some new work tops for my birthday. So I specified tops only, no animal prints and loose fit; here’s what I got!

Willard Lace Overlay Blouse from Brixon Ivy
LOVE this.
Pixlr_20160214161037476.jpg

Shalley Split Neck Blouse from 41Hawthorn
I did ask for colors haha. It looks really nice all dressed up.

Talar Split Neck Top from Skies are Blue
This is super comfy and easy to dress up.

Mavina Floral Print Keyhole Detail Tank from Loveappella
This fits PERFECT. I love the color on me and it’s really soft.

Dawney Scallop Trim Blouse from 41Hawthorn
It’s hard to get a good photo of this one; it’s navy blue. The arm gaps are little big but I couldn’t resist the scallop detail!

And of course they give me a handy guide on how to style everything.

I was incredibly happy with this box, so I purchased everything and got the 25% discount. Happy birthday to me 🙂 If you’re interested in Stitch Fix, here’s my link: https://www.stitchfix.com/referral/4414554

Hi Kara,

Here are some things!

I went to see the Book of Mormon on Tuesday. It was easily one of the best musicals I’ve ever seen in my life. The cast was incredible – they were so completely into it – and the audience was undeniably nerdy. There are parts of the musical that only nerds would understand and I felt very MY PEOPLE while there. It was magical. Andrew loved it too. We have been singing bits of the musical to each other since Tuesday and I don’t know when it will stop. And this is what I wore!

Tuesday was also the official start of the month long countdown to my wedding. Um. Remember when I started planning this thing like.. Two years ago. How is it so close? We’re going to pick out Andrew’s “suit” this weekend and I’m super excited.

Lastly, I finished Tyler’s book, Binge. It was really good. I couldn’t believe how raw and honest some sections were. It was very eye opening and I can’t wait for you to start reading it!

I have to read three more books before I double the number of books I read last year and I think I can do it!

I will get to work on my punishment next week. I just need to find a photo contest that isn’t dumb.

Punishments and a MOTD

Hello Keddah,

Let’s start this out with what I’m most excited for; YOUR PUNISHMENT. Film yourself (or stuffed animals) reciting a play, poem, or monologue as dramatically as humanly possible. Have fun!

Now on to my makeup post.

Last weekend I had an urge to make myself up. Here are some pictures!

Here are some of the shadows I used. I don’t really want to list them all out because I kind of dip my brush into all of them, but if you want to know specifics, lemme know.

This is my collection of Inglot and some of my MakeupGeek collection. The look was based around the round pan in the top left hand corner.

Hope you like it! I’m going to try and challenge myself to doing a makeup look a month! ❤

Hi Kara,

I didn’t prepare a post because I’m a horrible person so here are some things I’ve really been liking this month.

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson

IMG_9607

I’m going to repost this picture as much as humanly possible because Rory turns me into a damn looker.

I really wish you would read this book. It was a fucking delight. She makes you feel crazy and normal and human while weaving in the most hilarious anecdotes. I was smart this time and peed before every reading. And, as you personally saw, it’s necessary, because anytime she talks about Ferris Mewler I lose my damn mind.

Youtube Music

I’ve been obsessed with these two songs:

Fools by Troye Sivan aaaand

Can’t Sleep Love by Pentatonix featuring Tink (which is playing right now and I can’t stop my jam)(sidebar, I have a MASSIVE crush on the bassist; STOPPP. He’s so cute and clearly I have a type.)

Tea Time

12140207_10206204588806534_2426748460647817931_o

When we were in Vegas, we went to tea with our darling friend Jessica. It was a “Sorry Kara and I can’t be at your baby shower because of a wedding/Sorry Jessica can’t make it to my wedding because she’s birthing a baby” party. And it was amazing. And I think we need more tea times. And more Vegas times. And more Roulette times because, I mean, I love feeling like I stole $70.00 from a very profitable business.

PS Nightmare watch is at 3. Or 4. I’m so bad at counting.

The Diva Cup

Hello Keddah!

For our sensitive readers (also known as fuckboys), I will be discussing feminine hygiene products in this blog post . If you don’t have parts that care about feminine hygiene products, feel free to discontinue reading this post.

First, lets talk about my current loathing for Tampax brand tampons. Two cycles ago, I realized I was out of my tampons too late in the day for me to go without an emergency trip to Walgreens. I head over there, grab the box that says “sale,” make it home and realize that the box smells (I had no fucking clue that scented tampons were even a thing). There was nothing I could do, I had to use these flowery blood mops. (Mind you, this was in the middle of Maryann being in the hospital and my move. Not a cute time for me.) I figured that they HAD to be tested, so a few nights would be fine.  NOPE. NO. NOT OKAY. NOT COOL. 1) WHO WANTS THEIR VAGINA TO SMELL LIKE BLOOD AND FLOWERS??! 2) CLEARLY, SATAN MADE THESE AND WHY DOES ANYONE SELL THEM? I spent WEEKS recovering from them. I had the worst allergic reaction in the worst place to have an allergic reaction. And if you’re thinking that I didn’t take those bastards back to Walgreens and demand money back, then you’re crazy.

Now, let’s discuss what lead me to learn that there’s an option beyond tampons/pads. A couple of months ago, Alison and I discovered Trash is for Tossers, which is a blog written by a girl in New York City who lives a waste free lifestyle. Because you know me so well, Kara, you’re going to know that my first thought when learning about a waste free lifestyle was how in the damn hell does she wipe her ass. Since that was my first area of concern, my next logical concern was for her monthly gift from the demon god of torture, dark chocolate, and why me. This question was answered pretty easily! The Diva Cup (or any menstrual cup – that’s just the one she uses and the one I found at Sprouts).

Let me tell you what I know about the Diva Cup. It cost me $39.95 plus tax at my local Sprouts. It will last me anywhere between 1-10 years. It’s made of medical grade silicone so I never have to worry about my vagina getting messed up from tampons (which carry some nasty chemicals into your vagina, even the unscented kinds). On average, I spend $13 every two months on tampons. In five years, this will be a savings of $350.00. That’s a lot of damn money!

My last cycle was my first time using the Diva Cup and I cannot believe how surprisingly easy it was to use. I have a light flow, so I changed it four times a day. I could have easily done less (it can be inserted for no more than 12 hours at a time without being cleaned/rinsed). It didn’t irritate me, it wasn’t difficult to insert (in fact, it was kinda stupid easy to insert), and I feel like I’m giving both my wallet and the environment a little kiss of love.

If anyone is on the fence about purchasing a menstrual cup, please give it a shot! It’s a wonderful thing.

Edit: I wrote this blog post over a month ago and I can now say with certainty that the Diva Cup is life changing. GITIT.

Hi Steffi! If you want to play a new board game and you love adorable fat panda’s with belly buttons, you have to play this game!

You can watch TableTop play this game right here:

You build the land, grow bamboo, and make the panda eat the bamboo to complete missions for points. Whoever has the most points at the end wins! There’s handy player cards, bamboo shoots, and tiny mission cards. The panda token is the cutest thing you will ever see.

There is a collector’s edition version of this game that is super-sized, but there were only 400 released in the US. It’s running over $200 on amazon.

Takenoko_Panda

I settled for the collectible giant panda figurine. Him with his umbrella was just too adorable.

PLAY MORE GAMES!

Also, punishments! You still have your half punishment and now you have a real one: go one week without watching TV shows. That includes Netflix and Hulu and DVDs!

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Review

Hello Keddah,

First, this was a very naughty purchase. Remember when I said I was going to try to have a cruelty free makeup routine? Well, that would be a lot easier if 1) I had any semblance of willpower and 2) this foundation didn’t exist.

Let’s transition into the dream I had last night (which, bless its heart, woke me up at 4:30 IN THE GODDAMN MORNING). I’m living in my parents old house, my dad is hounding me about something stupid and I’m telling him to fuck off. Why? Because my new foundation is causing huge blackheads to erupt all over my face. The first one that I extract is in this really cool geometric pattern made out of a bunch of little round bits, and the second one becomes multiple tapeworms/snakes that are EATING EACH OTHER. Don’t even BEGIN to look up what this dream might mean. I don’t want to know. But clearly, I’m feeling the guilt.

Okay, now for the review.

First: Packaging.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum

Diorskin Nude Air Serum

The packaging is obviously stunning; however, I don’t find it very practical/to my taste. This is a foundation that requires shaking, so the way to remove product isn’t very practical. The lid/top of the bottle area becomes covered in excess foundation and you’re always going to be at higher risk of contaminating your products when you have to expose them. I feel that the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation bottle would have been much more practical, if not as beautiful. But this shit is gonna look gorg on your vanity, so who am I to complain?

Second: The finish.

PSST: no editing was done to this picture!

PSST: no editing was done to this picture!

This is possibly the most stunning foundation I’ve ever used. It’s a very thin, watery formula, matches my skin perfectly, and quite literally makes me look angelic. I’m amazed by the coverage (sheer to medium) and I love that I can apply it with my fingers. It lasts all day, with minimum touch-ups needed, and keeps my face at a nice satin finish (more matte in the morning because I set it with a powder and a satin by the end of the day). If you didn’t set this foundation with a powder, it would be the perfect glowy look, but I imagine you may need a powder touch-up/blot by midday.

I want to shout my love of this foundation from the top of the roof. I don’t want any other foundation ever; if woman could marry foundations, I would consider polygamy.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. Grayson, I’m really sad that Andrew wouldn’t write you a post back cuz it could have been mancrush week here on PT. D=
