San Diego Makeup Bag

Hi Karabean and Cheese,

I wanted to show you what I brought in my makeup bag for a week in San Diego. I think you you will be very impressed.

All makeup related things. I brought my two largest eyeshadow palettes simply because I had the room and didn’t feel like breaking them down into a smaller one. Top are my Inglot shadows and bottom are my Makeupgeek ones.

The cat bag holds all my makeup brushes. This bag once held a sleep shirt and I don’t think my mom expected me to get more use out of the bag it came in. But it’s great! The best part is – I can bleach it. No contaminants!

And what we all came to see…

Bronzer, eyeliner, translucent powder, blush, two lippies, two mascaras, two concealers. You will notice that there’s no foundation. And you would be correct. I’ve completely stopped wearing the stuff and I think my face is happier for it.

I can’t wait to see you next weekend! And I will make sure to tell you about either the Mistborn trilogy or those serum potions next week!

Makeup Geek Haul

Hi Bean,

This week has been very hard. I’ve been in a well of despair, along with most of the country, I think. There’s nothing I feel that I can add to the conversation, or should add to the conversation. But there’s something I can say. Shopping and Makeup are a wonderful. They are wonderful lights. So here’s what I bought.

Makeup Geek has the most wonderful packaging. It makes me mushy.

img_3106

This Sephora exclusive Z Palette can hold 9 shadows. So pretty.

img_3108

Top Row (left to right): Tuscan Sun, Chickadee, Peach Smoothie. Second Row: Sand Dollar, Vintage. Third Row: Tiki Hut, Desert Sands, Creme Brûlée

img_3066

Tuscan Sun is MUG’s new formulation and I almost died. It’s like butter. I cannot wait to play with these.

img_3071

Fairly certain that both of these are the new formulation and dear god. Vintage is INSANE.

img_3076

Since I can’t be trusted with life, these colors are in reverse : Creme Brûlée, Desert Sands and Tiki Hut. LOOK AT THAT EVER SO SLIGHT SHIMMER ON DESERT SANDS. END ME.

Sending my love to anyone who needs it.

Inglot Haul

Hi Karabean!

I bought a few new eyeshadows when we were in Vegas last weekend!

I needed some lighter shades to round out my Inglot collection so that was my goal!

in order: 467, 612, 393, 312, & 52

First: Inglot shadows have glitter mixed in with their pigments – this glitter barely transfers to the finished product, but allows for better blendability.

467 is a gorgeous neutral beige with a slight glitter.

612 is a light peach color with a slight glitter.

393 is almost identical to 612 in color but it has a wonderful golden sheen on it (no glitter)

312 is a lovely pinky peach color – similar to Makeupgeek’s Mango Tango

52 is a nice neutral brown with golden glitter.

Yay new shadows! I can’t wait to play with these!

Punishments and a MOTD

Hello Keddah,

Let’s start this out with what I’m most excited for; YOUR PUNISHMENT. Film yourself (or stuffed animals) reciting a play, poem, or monologue as dramatically as humanly possible. Have fun!

Now on to my makeup post.

Last weekend I had an urge to make myself up. Here are some pictures!

Here are some of the shadows I used. I don’t really want to list them all out because I kind of dip my brush into all of them, but if you want to know specifics, lemme know.

This is my collection of Inglot and some of my MakeupGeek collection. The look was based around the round pan in the top left hand corner.

Hope you like it! I’m going to try and challenge myself to doing a makeup look a month! ❤

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Review

Hello Keddah,

First, this was a very naughty purchase. Remember when I said I was going to try to have a cruelty free makeup routine? Well, that would be a lot easier if 1) I had any semblance of willpower and 2) this foundation didn’t exist.

Let’s transition into the dream I had last night (which, bless its heart, woke me up at 4:30 IN THE GODDAMN MORNING). I’m living in my parents old house, my dad is hounding me about something stupid and I’m telling him to fuck off. Why? Because my new foundation is causing huge blackheads to erupt all over my face. The first one that I extract is in this really cool geometric pattern made out of a bunch of little round bits, and the second one becomes multiple tapeworms/snakes that are EATING EACH OTHER. Don’t even BEGIN to look up what this dream might mean. I don’t want to know. But clearly, I’m feeling the guilt.

Okay, now for the review.

First: Packaging.

Diorskin Nude Air Serum

The packaging is obviously stunning; however, I don’t find it very practical/to my taste. This is a foundation that requires shaking, so the way to remove product isn’t very practical. The lid/top of the bottle area becomes covered in excess foundation and you’re always going to be at higher risk of contaminating your products when you have to expose them. I feel that the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation bottle would have been much more practical, if not as beautiful. But this shit is gonna look gorg on your vanity, so who am I to complain?

Second: The finish.

PSST: no editing was done to this picture!

This is possibly the most stunning foundation I’ve ever used. It’s a very thin, watery formula, matches my skin perfectly, and quite literally makes me look angelic. I’m amazed by the coverage (sheer to medium) and I love that I can apply it with my fingers. It lasts all day, with minimum touch-ups needed, and keeps my face at a nice satin finish (more matte in the morning because I set it with a powder and a satin by the end of the day). If you didn’t set this foundation with a powder, it would be the perfect glowy look, but I imagine you may need a powder touch-up/blot by midday.

I want to shout my love of this foundation from the top of the roof. I don’t want any other foundation ever; if woman could marry foundations, I would consider polygamy.

Have a great weekend!

P.S. Grayson, I’m really sad that Andrew wouldn’t write you a post back cuz it could have been mancrush week here on PT. D=

Sephora Haul

Hello Keddahbean,

I wanted to show you what I got with my VIP Rouge 15% off coupon!

First, last year was 20% and not giving us 20% this year is a bunch of horse hockey (this phrase is now added to my vernacular thanks to Northernlion. Andrew and I watch his videos more than I’m comfortable admitting to you, Kara.) Second, when Maryann had her fall, Andrew and I packed up about a days worth of clothes and toiletries, because we didn’t know where she was going to end up. When she was transferred down to Phoenix, I left my skin care in the car – and since skin care needs to remain at a certain temperature, otherwise it’s no good, I had to buy all new stuff (which I was eager to do – I didn’t care for my old stuff anyways). Third, all products purchased DO NOT test on animals. Working with Alison has reminded me that fighting against animal cruelty with my dollars spent is not an uphill battle. I want to get back to having a cruelty free beauty regime!

Edit: I wrote this blog post before I found out that Tarte was bought last year by a company in Japan that tests on animals. I may or may not be returning my Tarte product, but all of my opinions on the product are still true haha.

Edit (again): sorry for the lack of pictures! It’s moving day!

Let’s start with skin care.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Pure Mineral Sunscreen Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40: This is a wonderful moisturizer. It has a really odd/lovely mouse like texture, it doesn’t break me out, it’s light and sinks into the skin right away, and the best part is, it has more natural ingredients for sun protection, like zinc oxide! For those who are natural sun-care savvy, this sunscreen/moisturizer does not leave a white cast on my skin, but I’m not a hundred percent sure if anything could make me more white.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream: Again, this is a wonderful product. A unique texture, again, but it’s so soft and it melts into the skin. I’m experiencing no irritation using this product and I’ve noticed that my skin is really looking lovely even though I’ve had a hard couple of weeks with little sleep.

First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm: I currently use FAB’s Eye Duty Triple Remedy: Brighten, Depuff and Smooth in the morning and I’ve used their 5 in 1 Eye Cream, so I was eager to try their overnight balm, which is a recent release. This product is creamy, balmy, and is doing wonders for my eyes. This is the first overnight eye product I’ve used that hasn’t caused irritation. My eyes aren’t puffy when I wake up and they seem much more hydrated. It is not helping with any fine lines, but I know I’m going to have to spend more than $38 for help in that area.

Also, this product is a balm so I massage it into my eye area. There’s no tugging or pulling involved so it’s safe to do, but I feel that massaging it into the skin leads to the best results.

Tarte BB Tinted Treatment 12-Hour Primer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen: I’ve used this product before and I love it so. It’s such a nice, velvety, simple, sheer foundation. This is my third or fourth bottle and it will continue to be a staple in my beauty regime for a long time to come. Best of all, it’s pale enough! Almost too pale! Woohoo!

Extra Goodies: I spent a few of my beauty points and got a few naughty extras. A sample of Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara (which is arguably NOT better than sex. This mascara was halfway down my face by the end of the day [there’s a dirty joke here but I’m too lazy to find it]), and a Beauty Insider 500 Point perk which included a cute little makeup bag (which is actually wonderful quality), a sample size of Tarte’s LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint in Energy (which I haven’t tried yet), a sample size of Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in Copper Pink (haven’t tried and I don’t know if this is a cruelty free brand), a sample size of  Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (again, haven’t tried and I don’t know if this is a cruelty free brand), and a sample size of First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser (which is lovely and I will be keeping for travel!).

That’s it for my naughty purchases! Hope you enjoyed =D
